It can be confusing and small differences matter.

The numbers 55 and 70 indicates maximum weigh of the child. CS means Click and Safe snug harness indicator, G3 is new line with 2 new features:

- HUGS new chest pads with safecell technology that are designed to compress in a crash and reduce the amount of impact forces experienced by the child and

- EZ easy buckle system that prevents the child from sitting on the buckle when boarding.

From the simplest to the most advanced the new G3 models go:

Roundabout (up to 55 lb), Marathon, Boulevard, Pavilion and Advocate (all up to 70 lb). First two are the base models and I only considered the Boulevard, Pavilion or Advocate.

I chose the Pavilion 70-G3 because has all the features that matter to me (Roundabout and Marathon lacks them, the rest have them);

- true side impact protection,

- new chest pads that are designed to compress in a crash and reduce the amount of impact forces experience by child,

- click and safe snug harness indicator.

The Advocate goes further and has a bulky addition in the head area for more safety, but it was too bulky for my VW Tiguan. This the only difference between the Advocate and Pavilion.

Boulevard CS doesn't have NEW easy buckle system and Boulevard G3 doesn't have CS (click and safe snug harness indicator).

Overall I rate the this car seat 5 stars. No complaints:

- my son loves it, looks comfortable and the middle position is perfect to sit and watch the world through the window and take a nap without his head hanging down,

- easy to remove the seat cover ( manufacturer recommends only hand wash, no dryer but it is fine to use washer and line dry),

- easy to keep it clean (I wipe it with disinfection clothes and looks great),

- approved for air travel, although for me too bulky for plane (infant car seat is more useful for me on the plane and toddlers can just seat on the lap or seat),

- made in USA ("with global components"),

- they don't feel cheap, I compared different brands in the store and liked Britax the most,

- seat is very secure, there is no movements I had some with my Chicco Keyfit 30 infant car sear, but this is different base and seat,

- my son was never sweaty after a car ride,

- easy to install but I wouldn't want to switch the car seat between 2 cars, would buy another one,

- I bought it for my 1 year old who is big enough to use it forward facing (according to instructions and my judgement), but it is reversible for rear facing, can be used from the birth (obvious minus-can not take sleeping infant with the car seat outside).

UPDATE: My son is 2 years old, 30lb and still loves the seat and fits well in it even in the winter coat. After 1 year seat and cover looks like new. The only thing this seat is missing is a cup holder for older toddlers.

A second baby is coming soon so I probably will buy a booster type of seat 25/40 lb-120 lb for the older child and younger will inherit this one.

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08059668231796944339noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8267419014360557803.post-31849423135324195392014-03-19T15:50:00.001-07:002014-03-19T15:50:08.850-07:00New Safe Traffic System Safer Travel

New Safe Traffic System Ride Safer 3 Travel Vest, Pink, Large

This is My Opinion About This Product

After I buy this New Safe Traffic System Ride Safer 3 Travel Vest, Blue, Small (Baby Product)

I recently purchased the Ride Safer for our upcoming move to Shanghai, where we we will often be in taxis and cars that are not outfitted with a (US) standard LATCH seat. As a trial, I allowed my daughter to wear the Ride Safer on a 3-hour ride up to our weekend cottage. She got silly with her brother a few times and the lap belt became unthreaded from its loops. I warned her to sit facing forward only, but at her age (3.5), I think it was too much to expect her to sit still the entire ride when she technically had the freedom of movement. Thankfully the shoulder strap did indeed stay in its place, and for what it counts, she did enjoy wearing her "car seat vest". I think this will be a perfect solution to shorter car rides when I can keep an eye on her. For longer rides I will use with caution. So for the record, I am giving the Ride Safer only 4 stars in the hopes of attracting attention to the fact that the lap belt can and will become disengaged from its looping system if a child squirms around too much. Otherwise, it's a fine product and I plan to use it for my daughter as an alternative to bulky car seats.

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08059668231796944339noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8267419014360557803.post-7072210992384842222014-03-19T13:34:00.001-07:002014-03-19T13:34:36.302-07:00New Seat This SmartSeat convertible Protection Guaranteed

New Car Seat-This amazing Graco SmartSeat All-in-One Car Seat in Jemma is the ultimate in car seat longevity! This convertible car seat fits your child from 5-100 lbs is Side Impact Protection Tested! My two youngest are in radian car seats, which are very narrow. My oldest (5) recently graduated to a booster since she outgrew her 5 point harness by height. Now, if you've ever tried squeezing 3 car seats in the back of a smaller car, you know it takes blood, sweat, and swear words. And if one of those 3 seats happens to be a booster, it takes blood, sweat, and swear words on *Every single car trip*! So I was on the hunt for the seat that would be easiest to buckle. This seat fits nicely next to the rear facing radian. I do not think this would fit next to a forward facing radian. It puzzles in nicely. Its snug, but we were able to figure out a good "buckling technique" and now we've got it down! It takes no longer to buckle than it does a 5 point harness. The shape of the seat is key! It fits better than even backless. Notice how there's a few inches between the shoulder wings and the armrest where there's no side? Go look at other high back boosters. They don't have that. Its also narrower in the front than the back, and at the bottom than at the arm rests. This is what saves the skin on the back of my hand and actually makes it possible to buckle!

There's some pretty sweet safety features as well. I like that her head/neck is well cradled, and there's an energy absorbing "crumple zone" in the back of the arm rests where the seat belt hits. Neat! My daughter seems to like the legrest extension, though I don't think that improves safety. Its a nice comfort.

I never thought I'd pay this much for a booster (its more than most infant seats and convertibles!) but its worth it.. less than a down payment on a van, and its a pain in the butt enough to have to buckle 3 kids, one at a time, for each and every short little trip. If paying an extra $100 (over other brands like britax or diono) makes the process easier, faster, and saves me some skin on the back of my hands, then its worth it.

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08059668231796944339noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8267419014360557803.post-52137090875411704732014-03-17T00:35:00.001-07:002014-03-17T00:35:51.602-07:00New Safe Traffic System Safer Travel

New Safe Traffic System Ride Safer 3 Travel Vest, Blue, Large

This is My Opinion About This Product

After I buy this New Safe Traffic System Ride Safer 3 Travel Vest, Blue, Small (Baby Product)

I recently purchased the Ride Safer for our upcoming move to Shanghai, where we we will often be in taxis and cars that are not outfitted with a (US) standard LATCH seat. This Is An Excellent Product!! One of the best I have ever used and I've used a lot of car-seats including other portable harness types and this is by far the Best Car-Seat alternative that I've ever seen!! It is very high quality made from long lasting durable materials. I found it very easy to use without any issues. Just take 5 mins parents and read the directions practice a few times and your good to go! Your child's safety is worth It! I work with a large variety of children including some with autism and other special needs and this vest has been a Fantastic Product to use that far exceeded my expectations. I've had kids as young as 7 and as old as 12 use this vest and they All Love It!! Many kids don't want to take it off and have asked me to wear it outside the car just for fun. They tend to think of it as a jet pack or parachute harness and the slick colors and American like flags on it were very appealing to the boys. All the children I've had use the RSTV have found it very comfortable to wear. The only minor thing I can think of is that the head pillow can tend to get in the way of the upper tether anchor straps though I've found most kids generally don't like using the head pillow anyway so it hasn't really been an issue. The only real negative is learning that the Company Safe Traffic systems new version 3 of this vest does not include upper tether anchors or a crotch strap. After inquiring information from the company they stated that many customers asked for a version without these features hence why they changed the vest to meet consumer demand but in doing so they agreed with me that their version 2 was a safer option which included the crotch strap and upper tether straps. The other disappointment to me is the lack of color selection as the company now only offers the vests in the blue and Pink color scheme. I was hoping to order another in the green, yellow, or red version but those colors were discontinued for some reason. I also believe if they were to make a version with army camo-colors with the American flags it would sell Very Very Well with Boys! Besides these relatively minor issues with the company the Version 2 Ride Safer Travel Vest is an Excellent Product that I would recommend to anyone!! Then my son started sliding down, the cover wouldn't stay attached well, the seat belt guide kept scraping my knuckle and it was so cumbersome that the seat belt would constantly twist and even twist back into the retractor!

So after being so annoyed I researched the Kiddy Cruiserfix. I had to contact their customer service to get it specially shipped to AK and I have to say they were extremely helpful. I pretty much thought there was no chance anyone would ship this seat to me but they made it possible. I have been using the seat for about 2 weeks for my 6 year old. He says it is very comfortable.

The latches fit on my Toyota Sienna although the latch guides were not necessary. It was a little tricky but that is probably because I was installing it in a center seat. But I did get it attached. But not to worry because you don't even need the latch. It just helps secure the seat if no one is in it.

My favorite part and the whole reason I bought the car seat was the seat belt guide. With a simple press I can release the seat belt from the guide. My knuckles don't get scraped, there's no tugging , wrestling, pulling, etc. It is extremely easy. And the car seatbelt is now returning as it should into its retractor. The other feature that is awesome is that has the leg extensions. Well this is keeping my son the where he should be in the seat. He is no longer sliding downward off the seat. Another feature that I didn't know this seat had was that the back is adjustable. So I am guessing that no matter what your seat back angle is this car seat will adjust to lay flat against it.

The only drawback on this seat is it doesn't have a cupholder. But to me that is fine because my car has cupholders. It's possible there is an attachment out there you can buy.

So I am very very happy with my purchase.

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08059668231796944339noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8267419014360557803.post-51955179020451151832014-03-12T13:38:00.001-07:002014-03-12T13:38:08.852-07:00Best Britax Pavilion 70 G3 Convertible Biscotti

Best Britax Pavilion 70-G3 Convertible Car Seat Seat, Biscotti

This is My Opinion About This Product

After I buy this New Britax Pavilion 70-G3 Convertible Car Seat Seat, Onyx (Baby Product)

I read everything on convertible carseats: differences between EPP and EPS foams, safety features and whats really important, fabrics, faulty manufacturing, recalls, ease of installing, etcetcetc. Surprisingly, after reading EVERYTHING, I nailed it down to 4 that I wanted to look at in person which were:

Recaro Proride

Diono

Peg Premo

Snugli

How I ruled out the 4 above:

Recaro ProRide - its quite a bit taller and I am pretty sure it wouldn't fit in the middle of our Audi Q5. It also doesn't have EPS or EPP foam in the side walls where as the Britax does. Granted, it isn't safety law to have foam on the side walls but if you can have it, why not get a seat that has it.

Diono - EXTREMELY tall and would also not work in our car. I also didn't care for the fabric. It doesn't sit as low as the britax does and from all my research I learned that it's safer for the child to sit low in the seat like a bucket. It is really heavy but I wouldn't mark it down for that because we would be putting it in the car and leaving it.

Peg Perego - honestly, it's pretty much the same seat as the Britax. I would call it the Italian version of the Britax. I didn't choose it because the price point I could get the Britax for was better

Snugli - after narrowing down it came between buying this seat and the Britax. I loved that the fabric is cooling since my daughter is a toaster oven and I really wanted to get it for that fact plus its super cushy and the fabric is slick. When I put my daughter in it, her head was pushed forward while her body sat back in the seat. The pillow on top is tooooo cushy and she ended up looking really uncomfortable. Granted, my daughter is a little girl at 13mo, 18lbs, 27".

Now, why I chose the Pavilion vs the other models:

Advocate - only difference is that it has hard plastic + eps foam on the outer side of the seat. It's supposed to protect someone sitting next to the car seat as well as the baby inside the seat from getting hit by something on the side. In my opinion, that bit on the side is really hard and if you were sitting next to it, you'd still get hurt. I also thought the added width wouldn't fit in the middle of our back seat. I want her in the middle which would be safer than by the window so the side plastic bits aren't really necessary for us.

Boulevard - only difference is that it doesn't have CS (click safe) In fact, the Boulevard CS is now called the Pavilion. We thought it was worth the extra $20 bucks to get a seat with CS, why not?

Marathon - only difference is it doesn't have CS and it doesn't have EPP head cushions. I put my daughter in this too and since she is tiny, I liked that the Pavilion head rest hugged her a little more.

Why Britax:

- because I liked that it uses EPP foam which is better quality foam than EPS. http://ift.tt/O32Z9d

- assembled in the US. Yeah, its foreign parts but my thought was that maybe while their assembling in the US, if they saw a flaw in a part they might call it out. That could be totally false but hey, it's just what I think =p

- I am a germaphobe, so I like that I can take off the cover super easy and clean it =D

- I can adjust it around my little kid

- I figure Britax knows what their doing since they been at it a while

- fabric is real soft and won't irritate my daughters skin like her graco snugride did =(

I haven't installed it yet but will update the review once I do that =) Happy hunting!

UPDATE: I had the car seat installed by the CHP which I HIGHLY recommend. They show you how it should go in and how stable the seat should be when it is in correctly. I had to remove the seat later on and put it back in myself and I knew exactly how to do it. After I installed it myself I found that I had not put it in as tight as the CHP tech so I had my husband give it a go. It definitely needed the extra muscle and he was able to do it with no problem. FYI - this is all rear facing

I've been using this seat for about a month now and the only thing that I am not happy with is the velcro on the seatbelt. They put the velcro there so that you can stick the belt to the side walls of the seat so they are out of the way when putting your child in. The problem is, the hook part of the velcro can easily scratch your kid. I really dont understand why they didnt use the HTH velcro which is the hook velcro that is softer to the touch and mostly used on baby products. It's not a deal breaker but it is kind of annoying to have this great seat with this one stupid flaw that could have been avoid by using a better velcro.

UPDATE 12/5/13: Not like you don't have enough info to read I thought I'd add some more... Regarding the Velcro, I bought some loop velcro at the store and stuck it to the hook on the seatbelt. Problem solved and I no longer have to worry about her clothes snagging or her getting scratched.

One of the HUGS chest pads tore across the top. I called Britax and they quickly shipped replacement pads with no fuss. I also learned that in rear facing position the HUGS chest pads aren't needed which I now prefer. Since my daughter is on the littler side, the HUGS pads were really big on her when I buckled her all in. Of course when she she gets big enough for front facing I will reinstall them. I should also mention that removing them was easy and I didn't have to remove the seat to do so. I would also recommend registering your carseat when you buy it because it made the process of Britax shipping me the part that much easier.

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08059668231796944339noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8267419014360557803.post-21336040952057066802014-03-12T10:37:00.001-07:002014-03-12T10:37:42.085-07:00Best Evenflo Tribute Convertible Seat Gunther

Best Evenflo Tribute LX Convertible Car Seat, Gunther

This is My Opinion About This Product

After I buy this New Evenflo Tribute LX Convertible Car Seat, Gunther (Baby Product)

Pros:

-lightweight and compact size; even rear-facing it would probably fit almost any car

-inexpensive

-can rear face up to 40 lbs--to my knowledge that's the highest any American RF seat has

-my son seems to like it and it looks reasonably comfy (I have not tried it myself, I think I'm probably over the weight limit)

Cons:

-black fabric will get very hot in summer--but of course, no one made us buy the black one

-I found it a huge pain to install in our Honda Civic; admittedly I had only installed our Chicco infant seat before and that is reportedly the easiest seat to install ever. This one took about 5 times longer to install than the Chicco.

-speaking of installation, the "recline stand" is supposed to position the seat at the correct angle for rear facing and, at least in our car, it doesn't even do the job halfway. We needed a lot more extra padding (rolled towel as suggested in the manual) to get the angle right.

-the manual is in the oddest place ever (to me)--sort of shoved into the back of the headrest on the side. I really thought they didn't send me one, took some serious searching to find it!

Overall I think this seat is nice looking, safe, and very adequate for those seeking a low cost convertible seat. It's nothing fancy, for sure, but it does the job fine and allows for longer rear-facing than some other seats, which is essential--they are now supposed to RF til at least their 2nd birthday!

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08059668231796944339noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8267419014360557803.post-54611153858548718052014-03-12T02:34:00.001-07:002014-03-12T02:34:55.963-07:00New Uberchild Group 123 car seat

New Uberchild Group 123 car seat - Beige

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08059668231796944339noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8267419014360557803.post-68300102364354988432014-03-12T01:19:00.001-07:002014-03-12T01:19:27.102-07:00New Safety 1st Boost Protect Julianne

New Safety 1st Boost Air Protect Car Seat, Julianne

This is My Opinion About This Product

After I buy this New Safety 1st Boost Air Protect Car Seat, Julianne (Baby Product)

We like this booster seat, it provides better protection for the head incase of a side impact collision... but the seat moves around a good bit even with our little girl fastened in, this worries us... but there is nothing with this seat to fasten to the regular vehicle seat.

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08059668231796944339noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8267419014360557803.post-61764541586195106572014-03-11T23:39:00.001-07:002014-03-11T23:39:19.935-07:00Best Britax Marathon 70 G3 Convertible Seat

Best Britax Marathon 70-G3 Convertible Car Seat, Onyx

This is My Opinion About This Product

After I buy this New Britax Marathon 70-G3 Convertible Car Seat, Onyx (Baby Product)

I have one each of the Britax Marathon and the Recaro ProRide for our two vehicles. I studied and agonized over the decision on which car seat(s) to get when I purchased them several months ago. There are a plethora of reviews that pit the Britax against the Recaro, so to save you reading time, I'll keep my review brief:

Pros of Both:

-Sturdy, High Quality

-Great padding

-Plenty of adjustment for a good secure fit (and our little girl is definitely behind the growth curve in weight: 1 year old and 17 pounds!)

Cons of Both:

-This is probably vehicle dependent, but if installing as rear facing then sometimes difficult to get it level because of how many vehicle seats slope down. Ultimately, in our Camry I followed manufacturer recommendations and used a tightly rolled towel underneath to achieve the right placement.

Reasons I like Recaro (I'll qualify this by saying both are good, this is just a preference and am probably splitting hairs):

-installation slightly easier due to nature of the latch belts.

-harness release is much easier to find and just seems to make more sense (ergonomically) based on how your hands work when you are reaching in the vehicle.

-seat seems less bulky and easier to transfer child in and out of.

-harness is easier to adjust and fit seems more snug (note on the Britax, fit is FINE, but we can't get any tighter so ideally it could be a hair better.

-shoulder pads stay in place better

-easier for child to see out of (keep those eyes busy!)

So, these reasons may not seem like a big deal...which is what I would have said when I was researching. I will close with saying, both are good, and I did not bother to return the Britax, BUT, if I had to go back several months and do it all over again, I would just get two of the Recaro ProRide models.

Happy researching!

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08059668231796944339noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8267419014360557803.post-62280435375013193592014-03-11T22:42:00.001-07:002014-03-11T22:42:52.445-07:00New Graco FastAction Jogger Connect Travel

New Graco FastAction Fold Jogger Click Connect Travel System/Click Connect 35, Chili Red

This is My Opinion About This Product

After I buy this New Graco FastAction Fold Jogger Click Connect Travel System/Click Connect 35, Chili Red (Baby Product)

I am comparing the Graco FastAction Jogging Travel System vs. the BOB Revolution SE*

*I chose to compare against the BOB Revolution, as opposed to other the other BOB models, because we wanted the option of fixed wheel and swivel wheel.

I did a lot of research on the best jogging stroller and had narrowed it down to these two. We're currently expecting our first child, and will update this review after we've met our little one, so this review is only based on research. I am a light jogger and my partner runs 30+ miles per week. As we are only purchasing one stroller, we wanted our main stroller to be a jogging stroller. We made our decision and purchased the Graco FastAction Jogger Travel System. While price wasn't a huge factor, we do appreciate the overall value of the Graco system.

Graco

Dimensions: L: 40", W: 24", H: 42"

Folded Dimensions: L: 39", W: 23.6", H: 15.3"

Weight: 30lbs

Weight capacity: 50lbs

One-step folding

BOB

Dimensions (swivel mode): L: 46" W: 25.5" H: 40"

Folded Dimensions (swivel mode): L: 39", W: 25.5", H: 16"

Weight: 25lbs

Weight capacity: 70lbs (although most children will outgrow before reaching 70lbs)

Two-step folding

Why the Graco wins

We tested a few different strollers in store, and only looked at strollers with inflatable wheels, suspension, and specifically marked for jogging. I'm 5'8" and my partner is 6'0" and the Graco is a little more comfortable for us height-wise. If you are on the shorter side--say 5'4" and under--and a heavy jogger, you may prefer the BOB. If you are 5'10" or over, I'd recommend the Graco. At 5'8" I could go either way, but did find the Graco slightly more comfortable. Of course, if you can go to your local Babies R Us and try out the models yourself, that's best. The handlebar height is 40" on the BOB and 42" on the Graco. Neither are adjustable.

I liked the folding on the Graco better, as it's easier to be folded with one hand. The kickstand on the stroller to stand up while folded is a nice touch.

Included accessories: The Graco includes the parent's console--awesome, with the two rigid plastic cup holders, smartphone holder, and hidden compartment. Smartphones with 5in+ screens do not fit in the smartphone holder, but our iPhone 4s with rubber cases fit fine, and I've heard a naked iPhone 5 fits fine, while a case on an iPhone 5 may or may not work. But larger smartphones will fit in the hidden compartment. The child's tray, and wheel reflectors are also included. All of these must be purchased separately with the BOB and the parent's console is mesh on the BOB, which I didn't like as it didn't feel as sturdy. Additionally with the BOB, you have to buy the car seat adapter. And, the car seat!

I won't do a long review of the car seat, but the quality is important to us, and we feel the quality is on par or better than if we were to have bought the car seat separately. Besides the high safety ratings, we like that it is light, rated to hold an infant 4-35lbs., rear-facing, included infant insert, and is LATCH compatible.

Tie

Durability: I think the Graco is on par with durability with the BOB. Both have a metal frame and look they they can take a beating and certainly make it through infant to toddler, and another child. Contrary to the positive reviews I'd read about BOB fabric and canopy materials, I wasn't impressed, and felt the Graco fabric choices were higher quality. The BOB fabric looks like it will fade easily, and when looking at used BOBs on Craigslist, I noticed several noted a faded canopy.

Both strollers have the safety features of foot brake, wrist strap, and peakaboo window on top of canopy. Both canopy coverage was similar. Both strollers lack handle-bar brake.

Why the BOB wins

Suspension: The BOB does have better suspension, coil spring and elastomer core shock absorbers provide three inches of wheel travel. Adjustable shock release knobs allow for two shock positions to fine-tune suspension for varying occupants and cargo. This really made me lean towards the BOB at first, but we're not really trail runners and all of our running is done on level pavement. While we plan to take the stroller onto trails and beaches, we didn't think the suspension and shocks were as valuable there, given the other lacking features. But, if you are a trail runner or regularly run on uneven surfaces, this might make the BOB worth it.

Cost difference (online prices)

Graco system with carseat and attachments included: $300

BOB: $330 +carseat($150) +carseat attachment($55) +parent console($25) +child's tray($25) +tire reflectors($5) = $590

The Graco stroller comes in the following colors: RoadRunner (black/gray), Chili Red, Piazza (green), Grapeade (purple), Tangerine (orange), and Tidalwave (teal)

All are black or gray based with the color accent acting as kind of a "racing stripe," vroom!

Tip: For the carseat, if you do want the foot bootie (aka foot warmer or fabric boot) for your little one's tootsies, you can go to Graco Baby's website and find the SnugRide ClickConnect 35, find the color you like, get the product number of the item, and the fabric boot is available for purchase under the Replacement Parts section of the website for $13. Or you can call Graco and they'll do the order over the phone. While I couldn't find a bootie that matched the Chili Red, there is a bootie in black with white piping (called Lyric) that looks like a good match. Of course, color availability may change over time, so you might be better off making a phone call and asking.

Hope this helps with your purchase. Feel free to ask any questions about the Graco and I'll try to answer them. We're very pleased with our decision to get the Graco. Can't wait to meet our little guy and put this sucker to use!

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08059668231796944339noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8267419014360557803.post-18443260299795945682014-03-11T18:33:00.001-07:002014-03-11T18:33:12.710-07:00New Kiddy Cruiserfix Pro Seat Lavendar

New Kiddy Cruiserfix Pro Car Seat, Lavendar

This is My Opinion About This Product

After I buy this New Kiddy Cruiserfix Pro Car Seat, Rumba (Baby Product)

I have, until now, been a Britax mom, but am infinitely grateful to have stumbled upon the Kiddy Cruiserfix! It literally takes 3 minutes to install; 2 to read the instructions and one to lock it into place. I can't believe how easy it is! The k-fix connectors, which click onto the cars' LATCH anchors extend straight back, not sideways, so you push the booster seat straight against the seat (with space between booster seat and my cars' seatback at this point), it locks into place with an audible click, then you push a lever on the front of the carseat to allow the k-fix connector bars to retract back into the carseat while you push the cruiserfix back, effctively securing it tightly against the cars' seatback, and you're done! It took me 20 times longer to write this than to install the carseat.

I absolutely love the visible safety features.. I thought Britax was great but this one makes them appear a very poor second. The ease of height adjustments, as well as the leg extenders, couldn't be easier. Adjusting the height simultaneously adjusts the width of the head supports (side impact), allowing a bit of space between the supports and child's shoulders so the child's shoulders aren't eventually squeezed as he/she grows taller.

On the downside, my daughter was very disappointed in the color. We chose "rumba" because the picture makes it look dark rose, but it is, in fact, burgundy. Looks very boyish and not at all feminine. If you have a girly-girl, go with the lavender.

The other downside, and my biggest issue, is that in my car (2011 Kia sorento), there is no way to safely install this in the middle of the back seat, which is my preferred location for carseats. The k-fix connectors, extending straight back as they do with no option to angle them sideways, would leave the carseat completely disconnected in my car, with only the cars' shoulder strap keeping it in place (the middle of the backseat in my car does not have LATCH anchors, only the two outer seats. So in the event of a collision, the carseat is right next to the door, not in the middle. This is not necessarily the fault of Kiddy so much as Kia's, in my opinion. I would have loved an option to be able to connect the carseat to the interior LATCH anchors of both outer seats so my daughter could be in the middle of the car, which is what I did with our previous Britax carseat.

This is definitely worth the price! I would choose this over any of the similarly-priced Britax models any day. You won't be sorry!

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08059668231796944339noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8267419014360557803.post-9310195342559879522014-03-11T15:38:00.001-07:002014-03-11T15:38:11.492-07:00Best Britax Pavilion 70 G3 Convertible Blueprint

Best Britax Pavilion 70-G3 Convertible Car Seat Seat, Blueprint

This is My Opinion About This Product

After I buy this New Britax Pavilion 70-G3 Convertible Car Seat Seat, Onyx (Baby Product)

This is how to choose which Britax cars seat will work for you.

I chose the Pavilion 70-G3 because has all the features that matter to me (Roundabout and Marathon lacks them, the rest have them);

<br

This is My Opinion About This Product

After I buy this New Graco Ready2Grow Classic Connect LX Stroller, Metropolis (Baby Product)

ok. i have a 2 and a half year old and a 6 month old. i have a BOB duallie for the beach, parks, and walks, but have been looking at double strollers for stores. when i saw this one i knew it was the best option for now and in a year.

assembly is ok, not difficult but not super easy. after i assembled it, it really seemed like they could have done it for us and just packed it in a bigger box. but, nothing is that easy. the only part i struggled with was the standing platform, you have to snap it on upside down and pull it through. it was just odd.

it is like 95% plastic pieces. i'm guessing they will be durable enough, but the wheels, the seats, the platform all snap on to other plastic pieces. i just hope it lasts for the other children we will be having in the next few years.

**update** ok first chicco carseat do NOT fit in facing you. but you can slide it in sideways. the baby can see you if they turn their head. and it sat deep enough, that i felt comfortable for a quick trip in to the store.

right now my older son rides up front and my baby sit in the "bucket seat". both love their position. my older child gets to see everything and my baby seems comfortable staring at me. if he wants he can see other people to the side or behind me. he also is more willing to sit in the bucket seat for longer than he ever sat in our chicco carseat travel system. i just think he has more room.

it is very difficut to get to the basket with a child in the front seat and the bucket seat attached. so i figured out that i need to put everything in the basket first and then the kids in. it is easier to keep everything loose in the basket, rather than trying to get into a bag when both kids are in.

overall...PROS

assembly simple

drives nicely, can even steer using one hand if needed

folds easily

confortable seats

easy to adjust

overall...CONS

very, very long when folded [we have a new explorer and it has to go in diagonal, no way it would fit in a small trunk]

many, many plastic pieces [will it affect durablity?]

strong chemical smell when taken out of box [it does go away, i'm assuming all the plastic]

ok and for my biggest CON. they have a 5 point harness on front seat and bucket. however, the shoulder straps easily detach from the lap belt, allowing the shoulder pads to fall off when folding. i have almost lost them several times, had i not looked down. if this didn't happen i would probably give this stroller 5 stars.

***i have switched to using it for the baby up front and my almost 3 year old sitting or standing. both love their new option, my 9 month old is content to sit and watch, and my older can hop on to stand or sit.

the shoulder pad issue is just obnoxious, that i took both off and have resolved to it taking a tad longer to attach all 4 disconnected parts to the crotch strap.
<br My sister lent me her graco snugride when I had my first and it worked fine, but I didn't like how flimsy it felt. This model was recommended to me by a neighbor who is a car seat technician. It is supposed to be one of the safest seats on the market.

Some of the things I love about it:

- the whole cover snaps off to wash in two seconds, and you DON'T HAVE TO RETHREAD THE STRAPS!

- It seems heavier than my last car seat, but the quality is obviously much better, so I'm ok with that tradeoff

- I like that you can use it without a base. I didn't want to buy an extra one since we rarely use the seat in my husband's car, but on the occasions that we do, it was very easy to snap into place with the seatbelt.

Overall, we've been happy with this seat and would definitely recommend it!

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08059668231796944339noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8267419014360557803.post-86598283796922624682014-03-11T00:37:00.001-07:002014-03-11T00:37:35.036-07:00Best Diono Radian Convertible Seat Storm

Best Diono Radian RXT Convertible Car Seat, Storm

/

This is My Opinion About This Product

After I buy this New Diono Radian RXT Convertible Car Seat, Shadow (Baby Product)

I was just in a major fwy car accident. It can be confusing but small differences matter.

Older seats have the numbers 55 and 70 which indicates maximum weight of the child, CS means Click and Safe snug harness indicator.

G4 is new line, accommodates seats up to 65 lb instead of 70lb.

From the simplest to the most advanced the new G3 models go:

Roundabout and Highway(up to 55 lb), Marathon, Boulevard, Pavilion and Advocate (all up to 65). First two are the base models with lower child weight and I would only consider the Marathon, Boulevard, Pavilion or Advocate.

Marathon has all of the features that the rest of the car seats have except for:

- true side impact protection (Marathon has Side impact protection, this the inside cushion around child's head, models above have extra head protection),

- super thick chest pads that are supposed to minimize forward movement during a crash, Marathon has a different version than the above models have, still ok though,

- Click& Safe indicator, you can hear the click in the other models, when kid is strapped correctly, I can hear several clicks before I can say my son is safely strapped, after every click I can check the pads on his chest to make sure they are not too loose and keep adjusting (also Boulevard misses that option).

The Advocate goes further and has a bulky addition in the head area for more safety, but it was too bulky for my VW. This the only difference between the Advocate and Pavilion.

Overall I rate the this car seat 5 stars. I used them for last 2 years and love them. Good construction, fabric and happy kids. For me the best option would be Pavilion but like I said I've used both a Marathon and Boulevard with no complaints. I used to have an older version with click and safe and liked it but now I don't even pay attention that nothing clicks, I still use my fingers to see how much space my kids have around their chests.

Also the Britax website is very helpful in explaining all the features of the car seats.

Older versions (CS, 70, G3) are worth considering if the price is good, it looks like Britax offers new models every year, but on their website it says that car seats are good for 6-9 years from the manufacturing date (depends on the model).

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08059668231796944339noreply@blogger.com0
